Kino Flo continue their popular range of cool-running, soft fluorescent lights with interchangeable daylight and tungsten tubes provided as standard. This is the most portable Kino Flo source on the market, provided as a set of two and perfect for use in confined spaces. We supply a 5v adapter in the kit, meaning you can power the ballast from a cigarette lighter and light car interiors easily. Further control over the amount of light is given by the individual tube switches on a central ballast and the angle can be sculpted with an included eggcrate.

The KinoFlo FreeStyle LED range are much more convenient than traditional Kino Flo’s. They are fully dimming from 1-100%, feature full RGB colour control and are detachable from the barn doors with a single thumb screw for more mounting options. These lights also boast a Gel Mode which allows you to simulate a variety of gels and also an FX mode which can be used to simulate TVs, Lightning and fire. All of these features can be accessed and programmed through the wireless DMX interface included within the kit. These new sources have many similar functions to ARRI SkyPanels. The FreeStyle 4 is an update on the popular and highly regarded Kino Flo 4×4 fluorescent fixture (beloved of Gaffers the world over). The FreeStyle 4 is designed in the same, familiar 4-way tube format as the legacy Kino 4×4 light but with the added benefits of LED film lighting technology including full spectrum RGB colour control. As with all Kino Flo lights, the FreeStyle 4 produces a soft, precise light which is suited to a range of cinematography styles. Other advanced features include a wireless DMX (CRMX) interface and a dual AC/DC power supply for mains or battery powering. The FreeStyle 4 (also known as a T44) is fully dimming with a range of 1-100% and also boasts an FX and Gel mode. The FX mode can be used to generate flicker, flame and paparazzi effects whilst the gel mode allows the light to recreate a vast number of traditional and obscure coloured gels.

We have recently introduced Lastolite SkyLite Rapid black/white reflectors to our rental stock in an effort to offer you a more environmentally-friendly alternative to using Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) sheets which are usually painted black on one side, are extremely difficult to recycle and typically end up in landfill. The SkyLite Rapid 2 x 1.1m is the closest size to a conventional 8×4′ polyboard and features a white reflective side and a black (negative) on the reverse. The frame is quick and easy to assemble, packing up into a small carry case – which also makes it a lot easier to transport than poly. We have also priced these lower than what we charge for supplying polyboard (which is usually supplied as a consumable), hopefully making the choice to use the SkyLite reflector easy for you. To use these with a c-stand, we recommend using K-clamps in place of conventional polyholders In addition to the 2 x 1.1m size, we also offer SkyLites in the 1.1 x 1.1m format, which is the closest size to 4×4′ polyboard.
