  The FX6 sits at the centre of the Sony 4K Cinema Line camera range, with a more comprehensive feature set than the FX3, but enjoying a smaller and more mobile form factor than the <a href="https://shootblue.tv/products/sony-pxw-fx9-full-frame-camera/">Sony FX9</a>. It’s compact size and functionality make it a great choice for lightweight, handheld ‘run and gun’ shooting setups as well as being a Full-Frame 4K option for gimbal and B-camera use. With an interchangeable ‘E’ lens mount, it can be used natively with Sony lenses and with a mount adapter, will work with most other lens mounts including PL & Canon EF. It has a suite of highly useful features, including a built-in electronic variable ND filter, advanced autofocus capabilities, 15+ stops dynamic range and for low-light shooting, expanded ISO of up to 409600. It supports a range of Full Frame 35mm and Super35 10-bit 4:2:2 recording resolutions and also offers high frame rate capture at up to 120fps in 4K.   The Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K (for the purposes of this description, we’ll refer to it as the BDPCC4K) is an advanced, small form factor cinematography camera for shooting 4K, UHD and HD images. The BDPCC4K is built around a Micro 4/3 (MFT) sized sensor and it’s range of features include HDR capture, dual native ISO (up to 25,600 ISO) and up to 60fps recording in 4K. It supports ProRes and Blackmagic RAW recording, 3D LUT display and is compatible with CFAST and SD card media. It is also possible to record to external SSD media using the USB-C port on the camera. What we particularly like about this camera is the large touchscreen interface which is super easy to navigate and configure the camera. Blackmagic Design have even gone as far as adding a ‘<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamburger_button">hamburger</a>‘ button, bringing the UX of this camera very up to date. Our comprehensive rental kit includes CFAST media, 4 x LP-E6 batteries and a Tilta cage system.

  The Sony PXW-FX9 builds on the success of the popular Sony FS7/FS7II range of E-mount camcorders by introducing a larger Full-Frame 35mm Exmor R sensor. Whilst retaining the compact form-factor and familiarity of the FS7, the Sony FX9 features a sensor over twice the surface area of a Super 35 sensor, providing a shallower depth of field and a wider angle of view. Other key features of the FX9 include dual base ISO of 800/4000, over 15 stops of dynamic range and a 6K oversampled sensor for recording in DCI 4K, UHD, and HD resolutions. And for when a Super 35 format is required, the sensor crops to achieve a S35mm 4K recording mode. The FX9 Features an Electronic Variable ND, allowing for the user to have step-less control of their exposure without compromising on their chosen aperture. Our Sony FX9 camera kits are configured to a very high standard with a ARRI 15mm support package, media, and accessories to enable the camera to be used to it’s full potential. For power options, our rental kit includes both the regular ‘BP’ type batteries as well as a 4-way set of V-lock batteries and a V-lock power adapter. Building on the success of the original Alexa Mini and the Mini LF, the Alexa 35 continues with the compact, yet highly functional form factor, making it a highly capable camera for a wide range production scenarios. A new side display makes operational control much easier, ensuring the camera team can quickly make changes and dial in new settings. The Alexa 35 also has a modular lens mount system, making it extremely versatile when considering lens choices and gives the option to use native S35, Full Frame and stills format lenses on the camera. Our Alexa 35 rental kits are industry leading, and supplied with a generous complement of accessories, media and power options.
