The Laowa 24mm macro probe is a PL-mounted boroscope lens featuring a waterproof front barrel and built-in LED ring light. Compatible with both Full-Frame and Super 35mm sensor cameras, it also features a 85° field of view and focus & iris gear rings for remote lens control.

A highly useful lens for when you need to get closer to the subject and create a unique bug-eye perspective otherwise unobtainable with regular cinematography lenses.

Developed in the 1980s by the esteemed Joe Dunton Cameras (JDC) company (which was subsequently acquired by Panavision), Xtals have been used to lens many high profile feature films, including Star Wars Episode VI, Layer Cake, Guardians of the Galaxy and Ex Machina. They also remain a popular and enduring lens choice for cinematographers shooting music promos and commercials, especially when a striking and unique visual aesthetic is required. Our 4-lens set of of JDC Xtal Xpress (pronounced “crystal express”) anamorphic lenses include the 35mm, 50mm, 85mm and 100mm focal lengths. Recently given a complete optical and mechanical overhaul, we are confident this is one of the finest sets of these acclaimed and rarefied lenses currently available for rental.     The Cooke S8/i range has been crafted with the same optical characteristics, the warm and subtle yet expressive Cooke Look, that has come to define their spherical lenses, whilst offering a Full-Frame image capture. And at T1.4 maximum aperture across the series, they are also amongst the fastest Full-Frame cinematography lenses available. Complementing the Cooke Look is the precise and reliable mechanical design, making these lenses that cinematographers and camera assistants can completely trust in any shooting situation.
