  The Cooke S8/i range has been crafted with the same optical characteristics, the warm and subtle yet expressive Cooke Look, that has come to define their spherical lenses, whilst offering a Full-Frame image capture. And at T1.4 maximum aperture across the series, they are also amongst the fastest Full-Frame cinematography lenses available. Complementing the Cooke Look is the precise and reliable mechanical design, making these lenses that cinematographers and camera assistants can completely trust in any shooting situation. As Cooke themselves put it, the S8/i series are ‘Technically Beautiful’ lenses. Our set of Cooke S8/i lenses are natively LPL mounted and can deliver an image circle of 46.3mm, making them compatible with a wide range of both Full Frame and Super 35 format cameras, including the new ARRI Alexa 35. The compact and lightweight design also make them suited for todays diverse shooting applications, whether it be handheld, gimbal Steadicam or motion control. Our standard Cooke S8/i lens set consists of six focal lengths (25mm, 32mm, 40mm, 50mm, 75mm & 100mm) with the Cooke S8/i 135mm also available as a single lens option. As Cooke release further focal lengths in this series, we will be adding these to our rental inventory.

  Richard Gale Optics CLAVIUS Lens Set

  Bizarre, crazy, eccentric, surreal, unorthodox, scandalous… these are just a few of the words that we’ve heard when CLAVIUS lenses are being talked about. These are one of a kind lenses, unique in character, and present endless creative options (for when you have exhausted yourself testing every set of rehoused glass, Blackwings… or that fabled lens tucked away in the Woodland Hills that Peckinpah used to shoot Pat Garret and Billy the Kid). But words alone somehow fail to convey what the essence of what these lenses are really about… we really recommend that you make a trip over to Shoot Blue and experience these for yourself. Presented as a four lens set, comprising of 28mm, 38mm, 58mm and 88mm focal lengths, each CLAVIUS lens has a 95mm front and share a f/2 maximum aperture. The set is PL mounted and covers Full Frame, making them compatible with FF cameras such as the Venice and Mini LF as well an option for S35 format cameras.

  Anamorphic lenses rarely more characterful (and beautiful) than the JDC Xtal Xpress series. Developed in the 1980s by the esteemed Joe Dunton Cameras (JDC) company (which was subsequently acquired by Panavision), Xtals have been used to lens many high profile feature films, including Star Wars Episode VI, Layer Cake, Guardians of the Galaxy and Ex Machina. They also remain a popular and enduring lens choice for cinematographers shooting music promos and commercials, especially when a striking and unique visual aesthetic is required. Our 4-lens set of of JDC Xtal Xpress (pronounced “crystal express”) anamorphic lenses include the 35mm, 50mm, 85mm and 100mm focal lengths. Recently given a complete optical and mechanical overhaul, we are confident this is one of the finest sets of these acclaimed and rarefied lenses currently available for rental.
