These re-housed vintage anamorphic lenses feature distinctive flare, skin tones and softness, giving them a unique aesthetic. Not to be mistaken for the Evolution Kowa set, these are the real deal originating from 1970’s Japan.

The lightweight, compact and versatile structure of these lenses allow them to be used in a multitude of ways, including handheld, gimbal and aerial applications.

    The Cooke S8/i range has been crafted with the same optical characteristics, the warm and subtle yet expressive Cooke Look, that has come to define their spherical lenses, whilst offering a Full-Frame image capture. And at T1.4 maximum aperture across the series, they are also amongst the fastest Full-Frame cinematography lenses available. Complementing the Cooke Look is the precise and reliable mechanical design, making these lenses that cinematographers and camera assistants can completely trust in any shooting situation. As Cooke themselves put it, the S8/i series are ‘Technically Beautiful’ lenses. Our set of Cooke S8/i lenses are natively LPL mounted and can deliver an image circle of 46.3mm, making them compatible with a wide range of both Full Frame and Super 35 format cameras, including the new ARRI Alexa 35. The compact and lightweight design also make them suited for todays diverse shooting applications, whether it be handheld, gimbal Steadicam or motion control. Our standard Cooke S8/i lens set consists of six focal lengths (25mm, 32mm, 40mm, 50mm, 75mm & 100mm) with the Cooke S8/i 135mm also available as a single lens option. As Cooke release further focal lengths in this series, we will be adding these to our rental inventory.

    Featuring a 46.7mm image circle, Tokina Vista Primes cover the largest Full Frame and Vista Vision sensors, but are equally at home paired with Super 35 format cameras. All lenses in the set have a T1.5 maximum aperture, share a 9 bladed iris design and have almost imperceptible optical breathing, allowing for very precise and consistent cinematography. If you have not used Tokina lenses before, prepare yourself to be impressed – these are lenses that punch well above their weight, and hold their own against lenses by more established cine lens manufacturers such as Cooke and ARRI. We also sometimes get asked by our clients which of the lenses we stock have the closest characteristics to Panavision glass – Tokina Vista series primes are almost identical in terms of published technical specifications to Panavision Panaspeed large format lenses, so would always be our recommendation!     The Fujinon Premista 28-100m zoom covers a 46.3mm image circle, making it compatible with the Full-Frame size sensors of both the ARRI <a href="https://shootblue.tv/products/arri-alexa-mini-lf/">Alexa Mini LF</a> and the <a href="https://shootblue.tv/products/sony-venice-full-frame-6k-camera-axs-r7-package/">Sony Venice.</a> The 28-100mm zoom range encompasses some of the most widely used focal lengths in both Full-Frame and Super35 cinematography. And the Premista is an excellent choice for when the practicality of a variable focal range might outweigh the aesthetic considerations of shooting on prime lenses. Other features of the Premista 28-100mm zoom include a ZEISS eXtended Data port (LEMO connector) and a Cooke /i interface enabling focus, iris and zoom metadata to be captured.
